The black art of Night and low light photography (once you know it your eyes will bleed)
Right, I have been shooting low light and night photography for a while. I like it because I am in charge of the light. This is one reason why a lot of people are really afraid of it or are not interested in it. When I say low light, I don’t mean sunset, I mean PAST sunset and pitch black night.
I think the majority of newcomers to the SLR market make a terrible and fundamentally wrong assumptions when it comes to night photography: it takes years of practice and you need professional equipment to take great pictures.

Learn to see the Photo (how can you remember all the rules?)
Ok, we have a ton of Photographic rules (rule of thirds, golden cut, golden ratio, no frontal portraits etc. etc.). Well you can only remember them if you use them frequently and in order to use them frequently, you need to remember them
.
Now learning to see the final photo is actually quite simple: Try to put your focus object in focus and let the surroundings tell the story. That’s it. It isnt really that hard and remember YOU need to like the photo and the story it tells. (more…)
